Whether we like it or not, our competence is judged every day by our verbal and written communication. Clients, staff, and peers evaluate our ideas, our projects, our proposals and our overall success by how well we communicate.

In this training, you will examine and practice business communication techniques in order to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively when speaking and writing.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review common grammar rules and pitfalls
  • Analyze both verbal and written job duties and identify specific areas of improvement
  • Develop writing documents using audience-centered design
  • Review elements of effective writing including organization, mechanics, grammar and syntax
  • Ensure that information is always communicated professionally

TEDRA COBB is the president and owner of Tedra L. Cobb and Associates, a dynamic consulting firm focusing on employee and management training in effective hiring practices, performance management and supervisory leadership, sexual harassment prevention, time management, customer service and professionalism, problem solving and decision making and communications. 

Ms. Cobb's specific areas of expertise are program and organizational development and the presentation of highly effective, interactive educational workshops. Her clients are diverse including manufacturing, universities, government, casinos, libraries, and not-for-profit health and human services organizations.

Ms. Cobb holds a M.S. Ed. in Instructional Technology, specializing in Training and Development, from the State University of New York at Potsdam. Her professional experience is diverse, ranging from bi-lingual counseling (Spanish) in the NY prison system to directing a community-based health coalition.
