This zip code area includes Clinton, Essex and parts of Franklin County, New York but is the most localized data available. It illustrates substantial export growth among companies in the zip code area at a rate well in excess of the national average. It is assumed that exports from this zip code area travel to or through Canada.

The merchandise exports from exporters located in zip code 129 reflect exports to all parts of the world which are assumed to travel through Canada and/or have a final destination in Canada. From 1996 to 1998, total exports of goods and services from Zipcode 129 increased 8%, however from 1997 to 1998 exports declined 19%.  Canada is the largest export market for New York state. In 1998, New York exported $9,957,112,000 worth of goods to Canada. This represents an 11% increase from 1996. Exports from the 129 Zipcode represent 5% of New York state exports to Canada.
